What is ‘Ampmatic’ charge?
Ampmatic is an automatic ‘realtime’ adjustment of charge current to match battery size and condition – small battery gets less, large battery gets more. Can I use the OptiMate 6 on a small battery, like a motorcycle battery or a moped battery?
Yes you can. The AmpMatic program automatically adjusts the charge current to match the size of the battery.
I can’t find a button to switch it off. Will it stop charging when my battery is fully charged?
Indeed, the OptiMate 6 doesn’t have a button to switch it off. Once the battery is fully charged, it will go into maintenance : test every 30 minutes and deliver some additional current when necessary.

How fast does OptiMate 6 recharge batteries?
The time required for the OptiMate 6 to complete the charge of a 50Ah battery should take no more than about 8 & 1/2 hours. Deep-discharged batteries may take significantly longer.
